Updates to BBi Financial Planning – w/e April 4

This week more content was added to the Relevant life product page, and additional SEO tasks performed.

Thanks to a new tool from Candour called Also Asked I was able to build a FAQ page very quickly from the seed term ‘relevant life insurance’. This helped me identify 18 related search terms to build the FAQ.

FAQ schema was added using Ultimate Addons for Elementor, and tested against Google’s rich results tool which picked up the new schema data.

This page was then optimised for mobile, with slight adjustments to font sizes and padding for many elements to account for the new breakpoints. This was tested against Google’s mobile friendly testing tool and passed.

Finally an update was posted to Linkedin to notify people of the change.

The search term ‘relevant life’ has low competition according to Hike SEO and SEMrush ranks it as ‘possible’ at 33% difficulty so it’s one to try for.

The next step for this page is to track downloads for an ebook, which will largely contain the same information, but as a downloadable asset it should add more value to the page.

Adding a goal to track these downloads will also help learn more about analytics and goal tracking in general, in GA4 anyway.

In general updates, there were changes made to titles to optimise for length, a missing h1 was added, and meta descriptions were added across several pages.

New backlinks were added from bbicover.com, and Google my business was tweaked to show opening hours and additional facilities/features of the office address.

Building out a landing page

For bbifp.com, I’m working on building out a page for a specific life insurance product called Relevant Life insurance.

The basic page structure exists, but I know I have more keyword research to do (For example, Google Trends tells me that ‘life insurance for directors’ is a popular search so I need to incorporate these findings.

As well as some general information about Relevant Life insurance, I created a one-minute video to add more varied media. This is hosted on Youtube and embedded via Elementor. This video has also been shared on LinkedIn as a post under the company page, and it was uploaded to Instagram too.

I didn’t realise Instagram only shows square video (🤦‍♂️) so I need to remake the video and upload it again.

An ebook with more detailed information about Relevant Life is also in production. At this stage the book will probably be free to download, so I will have to assign that as a Goal in Google Analytics so I can track downloads.

This will all form part of the hub-and-spoke strategy I plan for the site’s product information. In this case, the Relevant Life page will be a spoke off the protection or business protection pages.

It could be used as a lead capture by asking for an email address to register, but at this stage awareness is more important than capturing emails. Besides, we have no email follow-up strategy to implement yet. But that’s a separate tragedy.
